The Friendship Years

Noah & Marchant first crossed paths in the Fall of 2018 at Furman University in the lounge connecting their freshman dorms… the same way they met all their college friends. As Noah & Marchant both describe it, there was always a special chemistry between them, however they remained best friends for three years before dating. During their friendship, they cherished their Tuesday and Thursday bagel meet-ups between classes— they weren’t dates since they were still just friends, but these special moments eventually became a cherished ritual. Their Saturday nights were reserved for SNL watch parties, and Noah made it a point to walk Marchant to work at the farm every day. Noah's willingness to make that daily trek was a clear sign of his feeling for Marchant, though Marchant didn’t catch on until the Spring of 2021. When she finally did realize her feelings, she made the classic mistake of confessing them on April Fool’s Day. Luckily, Noah saw that this was not a prank and they began happily dating.

The Dating Years

Noah & Marchant’s relationship blossomed throughout the rest of their time at Furman and once they graduated in 2022, they both moved down to Charleston. In their new city, they developed new traditions: Friday night pizza nights, picnics in the Battery, and frequent escapes to Edisto Island. This is why Marchant was completely unaware of the special surprise Noah had planned when he asked her to go for a dockside picnic at Edisto on June 22, 2024.

The Proposal

It was a beautiful day on the dock at Edisto as Noah & Marchant were eating their Jersey Mikes and watching dolphins. Halfway through their meal, Marchant needed to grab her water bottle from the car when Noah said, “Umm you can’t go to the car… there’s a photographer hiding in the woods.” With that statement, he dropped to one knee and surprised Marchant with a ring. She obviously said yes (you’re on our wedding website duh), and thus began their next adventure!
